Sakusuke Saotome, a college student, lives in the town of Kongō. For the past two years, mysterious suicides by hanging have been occurring in the area. Ever since he moved to Kongō, nightmares depicting him committing suicide have been plaguing his sleep. Things all fall into place when he learns of an urban legend claiming that a girl would supposedly appear before the victims to sign a suicide contract with them, pursuing them until the victims commit suicide.
