Set in a part of Tokyo that has descended into a quagmire, the story follows Unit 8 of the 5th Special Public Security Section's 3rd Mobile Assault Division, popularly called "The Eighth," who don powered armor "Willwear" exoskeletons to counter the rise in crime.Assistant inspector Asami Kazari is assigned to The Eighth with the task of assessing the unit's status and reporting it to her superiors. But her true goal is to rehabilitate this sloppy, haphazard, justice-less group.

The Gundam MSV Ace Pilot Series of Biographies originally ran in Comic Bon Bon magazine from December 1983 until July of 1984 and focused on three heroes: Johnny Ridden, Shin Matsunaga and Roy Greenwood. These same three characters would later pop up (along with Thomas Kurtz) in their own individual stories by Oki Hajime, only this time under the title of "Gundam Pilot Series of Biographies."

Partially based on the Mobile Suit Gundam F91 Crossbone Vanguard novel, the manga acts as a prequel to the events of Mobile Suit Gundam F91, depicting the Crossbone Vanguard and the residents of Frontier IV prior to the Cosmo Babylonia War during Universal Century (UC) 0123.

In this just-surreal enough take on the "school genre" of manga, a group of friends grapple with all sorts of unexpected situations in their daily lives as high schoolers. She has a negative prejudice to many things in the world due to the knowledge she gained on the Internet in her young age. She's not good at studying or playing sports, but is great at tsukkomi. Nanado's official name is "Code 7D-O", but she is rarely called that. She is bright and optimistic, and doesn't think too much about things. She can perform general living activities such as talking and eating, just like humans, so that she does not seem to be an android. This spinoff series from Xam'd: Lost Memories portrays Takato Isshin, owner of a strange compass, as he stumbles upon two Tessican sisters on a pilgrimage.Nangai Island is a small isolated rural island where nothing happens. This is where Isshin Takato has grown up and now lives alone.Meanwhile, Hina and Karahina are two Tessican sisters with a secret that would make even the Army wary. Although they are on a search for their holy land, the older sister's incredibly bad sense of direction has landed them on Nangai Island instead of their target continent.Due to a series of events, Isshin and the two sisters end up fleeing the Army and the island, with only his father's boat and compass to guide them. And thus begins another story in Xam'd, an incredible journey around the world.

Published in 1997 in an issue of Weekly Shonen Jump for the "Jump Readers' Cup", this manga tells the story of two young demons named Bubul and Purupuru who venture outside of their village to the human world to make snowmen. During this activity, they hear an approaching car and quickly check it out which leads into hijnx. This manga won the award that year, marking the first time Toriyama won it since his 1981 one-shot "Pola & Roid" and its demon world notably has several concepts that would be reused in Cowa, one of his single-volume length tales.

One year after the failure of his first manga, Awawa World, Toriyama once again tried his hand at manga creation for the Monthly Young Jump award and crafted Mysterious Rain Jack, a one-shot mystery comedy that features an unnamed detective and his bumbling inspector ally who try to crack the case of a string of mysterious thefts that revolve around various items such as sweets and Cola. The story notably features character designs and scenarios that would later find their way into his most popular work, Dr. Slump. In particular, the lead detective's design would eventually be reused for Kurikinton Soramame and there's an appearance by an ogre who would later become Thunder Ogre Goronbo. The work was unfortunately rejected which was in large part due to the usage of several designs lifted straight from the space opera film Star Wars. Despite this however, Kazuhiko Torishima, who would later become Toriyama's editor, contacted him with words of encouragement that kept him going until he eventually found success. Like Awawa World, this manga would be republished in two parts in the "Bird Land Press" fanclub newsletter and would have its master materials brought out for display during a roaming art exhibition in the 1990s that was dedicated entirely to Toriyama's work. Unfortunately it along with Awawa World had its master materials stolen and when coupled with the use of copyrighted designs? This means an official rerelease is highly unlikely.
